The challenge an exciting landscape
presents is to represent the ‘moment’ as a two dimensional image. This
must have its impact without the moist air, the sharpness of the morning
light, the smell of the earth and ‘being there’. Landscape painting is
where recedence and emergence of colour is used to great effect and
is employed with the subsequent outcome
of depth and distance.
